So bad...

I know, I am SO BAD at keeping this up!!! I am working on the last four weeks of posts...I will have them up soon, I promise!!!

Spring Break Baby!

Okay, since I promised I would be blogging and updating more, I have to explain why you won't hear from me for a while.
One of the 'perks' of working with children in public education is that when the kids get a break, usually the teachers get somewhat of a break.

I will be leaving this weekend to celebrate my spring break (and one of my last chances to fly for a while). I am leaving Friday to fly to Tennesee to spend some time in Nashville with Jana and her family. I LOVE her niece and nephew (Caryssa and Luke) and can't wait to see them again! Tuesday I will be driving to Knoxville to spend time with my sister and grandparents. Thursday I am flying to San Diego (my FAVORITE city) to see Carrissa and Eddie! It will be a great week, but sounds exhausting now that I am typing it :).

When I get back next week (the 16th) I will put in lots of pictures...have a wonderful week and weekend!

Old friends...

Ugh, I can't believe I didn't take ANY pictures of this weekend!!
This weekend Nicole and I went to Fort Worth to meet Melissa and Layla and see Caroline and the twins (James and Lauren). We had a great time hanging out and paying with all of the kiddos, I even got to squeeze in a visit with Marcy and see Ryan! It was a great weekend, and makes you realize how much you appreciate old friends!!!

Okay...I KNOW I am horrible at keeping this blog updated :). I PROMISE I will be making it more of a priority...especially as my belly is getting bigger and bigger :).

A LOT has happened since the last post. I went to the doctor on February 13, 2009 to find out Travis and I are having a BOY! Since my appointment in February I was thinking boy, so I had basically everything all picked out. The day after the appointment (Valentine's Day) Travis and I started the process of registering and picking out furniture. I had of course already run to Nursery Couture to pick out my bedding because Susan and I had seen that it was half off the weekend before. As of February 15 Travis and I had everything registered for and all of the furniture picked out. I decided to keep my registry at Babies R Us because I have heard horrible things about the return policy at Target.

Since that appointment, Brayden James has been doing lots of growing! I generally alternate between my regular clothes with a Belly Band and maternity clothes...and I tend to be LOTS bigger at night than I am in the morning. Brayden has been kicking a LOT lately, but Travis hasn't been able to feel him yet because appareantly my placenta is right under my stomach, so Brayden is kicking into that.

As of today I am officially 23 weeks...and it is starting to go by very quickly! I have tons of stuff coming up on the next several months, so it should continue to fly until June, where weekends will belong to a completely different person!

15 Weeks--Pictures this week I promise!!

I promise that I am going to post some pictures this week for those of you that are out of town!! Truthfully, I don't really have anything else going on except what looks like a beer gut. My doctor tells me it is because my uterus has pushed all of my stomach and intestines into the middle of my stomach...fun times. So...no baby bump yet, just a big stomach. I KNOW that I need to have a record of my 'changing stomach', so my plan is to start this week, and take a picture every week for the next 25 weeks (and that seems like a REALLY long time when I think of it like that).
Travis started to do a lot to the nursery this weekend (he was bored because Lucas was out of town). He put up chair rail and crown molding...and we have cleared out the whole nursery except for the bags of baby stuff that are quickly accumulating! We have almost agreed and baby bedding (if the baby turns out to be a girl we are back to square one). I think the bedding is going to be Caden Lane, Jack...unless one of us changes our minds again!

It's a boy????

I went today to have my sonogram and do some tests for down's syndrome and spina bifida. The tests looked fine...but the ultrasound technician was able to give me his 'educated guess' as to the sex of the baby. He said that in a girl, the genital region is usually angled at 30 degrees. Well...the baby's area was angled at 90 degrees!!! I would say that is a boy...or we will have some great stories for a little girl! Of course...Travis had to work and Jana was with me at the appointment, so she got to hear the news first! I did call Travis as soon as I left the appointment though :).

Week 12

I went for my second appointment on December 18th. I did have to wait about 2 hours to see my doctor today, but I was able to see my friend Liz (who had twins in November) and my friend Lisa (who is due 6 weeks before me) in the waiting room. Everything was fine at the appointment. The heartbeat was now 159...and I had gained 3 more pounds. The doctor did give me the option for going in to have a sonogram and some blood tests the next week to check and make sure the baby was developing correctly. I jumped on it, partly because I am such a worry wart, but mostly so I could have another sonogram!!
